Playing with Elephants   Leave a comment

Wow what a day.  First stop of the day was to visit a temple built in a cavern.  Incredible sight.  Next, Kerry and I took a trip out to an Elephant Sanctuary on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpar.  Previously I’ve seen elephants in the zoo.  In Chester zoo they are allowed to move around freely in a very generous compound.  This though was something entirely different.  We have the opportunity to feed them, close up to such a degree we could place fruit on their tongues.  We rode them and watched them being washed in the river by the sanctuary workers.  The best part was the finale, we got the chance to swim in the river with them.  For them to spray us with water, tease us with their trunks and just plain have fun.  What a day and a once in a lifetime experience.
