Sunlight   1 comment

More Melbourne photographs.  This time a big oldish church we found on the outskirts of the city centre.  We arrived just at the time of the day when the sun we streaming through the windows giving the interior a fantastic golden glow.

Parliament   Leave a comment

This was a cool visit on one of our trips into Melbourne City.  It wa sa short tour, but free so I can hardly complain.

The parliament building is split into two halves.  One is the Victorian Legislative Council, called the upper house.  The other is the Victorian Legislative Assembly the lower house.  One chamber has plush velvet seating the other plush leather.  The decorative detail of each chamber with gilt work was amazing.

Here’s some more info on the building.

The Pier   Leave a comment

Living in Altona, by the sea, we are fortunate to have a pier. It’s a popular attraction for fishermen, school kids, couples wanting a romantic walk and uninterrupted views of Phillips Bay. What it gives me is a great subject to Photograph. This time of the year it can get a bit chilly on the pier. However nothing  near as cold and blowy as Whitby pier was one March weekend when Kerry and I visited a few years ago.
