A time capsule, a wreck and a view   Leave a comment

Out and about in Altona, Kerry and I went for an afternoons walk into the nature reserve.  At the top of the look out point was a plague  informing us that a time capsule is buried there from the year 2000.  This capsule is to be opened in 25 years time.  It’s interesting when I considered the length of time that the capsule is to be buried for.  In my view 25 years really isn’t a long time.  For me this highlights an interesting aspect of Australian society.  With their country being so young in terms of settling, late 18th century.  25 years appears a long time to them.  To me, being from the UK, where I would think nothing of visiting a National Trust property anything up to 800 years old and with our history dating back hundreds of more years than that it’s nothing.  Just think about the Blue Peter capsule buried in 1971 for a year 2000 opening for just one example.

We got some great views of the city from up there along with a chance to photograph a burnt out car on the beach.  Being a photographer a chance to photograph all than rust and wreckage mmmmmmmmm.
