St Agnes, Cornwall   Leave a comment

Unbelievably Kerry and I have been back in the UK for one year now and firmly settled in Cornwall.  So it is time I updated my blog and continued with my updates but now to show off beautiful Cornwall.  I can’t guarantee the frequency of the posts (I now work full time) but I will do my best to post as much as possible to show off this amazing part of the world

So lets start with Spring Bank Holiday weekend by the seaside.   Here are a few images taken on the beach at St Agnes, Trevaunance Cove.  This is a great beach about a mile from St Agnes village.  The tide comes right in.  Kerry and I have spent a good few hours her watching the waves crash in and the surfers do thier stuff.  On this particular day the beach was warm and busy with families enjoying the start of summer.

Happy New Year   Leave a comment

Thank you for reading my blog this year.  It’s been one hell of a year.  We started it in Queensland Australia, seeing in the new year on Mount Paluma and we are ending it in our new home back in the UK in Cornwall.  In between we have lived in the amazing city of Melbourne for 9 months, traveled the Great Ocean Road in southern Oz, visited Thailand where we stayed on the island of Kho Toa (and scuba dived!) and spend a great time with friends in Bangkok.  Back in the UK a few days where we spend time catching up with friends and family in London and Nottingham before the move to Cornwall.  We both have jobs…..damn reality hurts!

More travels and diving are planned so keep reading.

Edinburgh   Leave a comment

These images aren’t strictly of our trip around the world, but I found them by accident the other day. I thought I would share them. They were taken on a cold Edinburgh evening in December 2010. In fact the day after these photos were taken Kerry and I were forced to spend an extra night in there due to a sudden downpour of snow.

Off we go!   1 comment

Many of you who have been reading this blog for sometime will know we have considered staying in Australian for an extended length of time 4 or 5 years.  We have had the opportunity to do so, but ultimately we are homesick.  We miss our friends, family and the oldness of the UK.  So today we booked our tickets home to the UK.  We are doing the journey home in two legs.  The first is on the 4th September from Melbourne to Bangkok (with a brief stop back in Kuala Lumpar).  We are spending 4 weeks in Thailand sightseeing, taking more photographs, seeing friends and DIVING!   The second leg is Bangkok to London.  We will arrive in the UK on 4th October, in time for the run up to Christmas…….It will be good to see the old place, friends and family.

May 2011 – 12 by 12   Leave a comment

The month our lives changed beyond all recognition. On the 1st May we left our home in Nottingham and drove to Jersey via Weymouth. We spent the next 2 weeks getting ready for the off. We completed the work on the Land Rover, packed our kit and had lots of lovely dinners courtesy of David’s mum. We left for France on 16th – the start of our European adventure. We had a 2 week whistle stop tour visiting Mont Saint-Michel and the Somme in France, Berlin and Dresden in Germany, Luxembourg, Poland, the Baltic’s and Finland. On the way we danced in a swimming pool, got disgracefully drunk in Riga and felt the horrors of Auschwitz.  We had our first experience of  Wild Camping and over landing in a Land Rover.
